Want to make sure your resume communicates the type of role you’re ready to assume?
Give yourself a title at the top of the resume. For example:
Mary Smith | 111 Main St. | Boston, MA 02108 | 617.555.5555
________________________________________________
PROGRAM/ PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR
_________________________________________________
Then go right into your summary section:
Seasoned program development strategist… etc.
Or, if you don’t want to use a title like Director or Manager, use descriptive nouns instead (nonprofit…. management, development, professional, strategy development, etc.)
Mary Smith | 111 Main St. | Boston, MA 02108 | 617.555.5555
_______________________________________________
STRATEGIC PROGRAM/ PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT
_______________________________________________
By giving yourself a title, you’re enhancing your brand and helping companies quickly understand where you can add value. Make sure, of course, that the title is appropriate for whatever job you’re applying to!
